7 Best Business Books in 2019
Every year many books, with different titles and subjects are published. How do you distinguish and prioritize the best ones for the specific time in your life?
As an entrepreneur, I have read many books over the years. Ranging a wide array of subjects, business strategy, business start-up, business books for beginners, etc. However, there are very few of those books that I constantly use as a reference to assist me on my decisions.
Here are seven books that every business owner should read, in my opinion.
1- The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People: Powerful Lesson in Personal Change
This has been for years one of the most important books to help you understand where you are going, and the paradigm of life. It certainly helped me to navigate through uncharted territory.
Whether you are an entrepreneur, employee, or a family person, this book will shed a light to make you a better person all together.
2- Think and Grow Rich
I must admit. When I first read this book, I thought it was a bunch of BS. As I grew older, and more open minded to different things, I decided to give this idea a try. Perhaps I have not come to the $5million dollars I was hoping for, but it certainly has thought me many lessons. The idea of achieving anything through believe is certainly a good confidence boost.
3- Rich Dad, Poor Dad
This is another classic book that has been consistently a best seller over the years. The key take away is understanding the differences between assets and liabilities. You must buy assets in order to leverage your income. After reading this book was when I became adamant in purchasing real estate. Despite of my opinions, this is a great book to read.
4- Start With Why
Fun fact about Simon Sinek. When I was pursuing my MBA degree, I reached out to Sinek to get his comment whether he agreed or disagreed with my leadership theory. A week later, I received an email from him responding to my request.
Besides the fact that I think he is a nice guy, this book is great. This is specially true if you are still trying to figure out what kind of business you want to start or be in.
5- Profits First
The author presents a different approach to the conventional accounting system by flipping the formula. Instead of “Sales-Expenses = Profits”, he suggests “Sales-Profits = Expenses”. The author follows accounting principles to make your business more profitable.
6- How Successful People Think
The author presents a different approach to the conventional accounting system by flipping the formula. Instead of “Sales-Expenses = Profits”, he suggests “Sales-Profits = Expenses”. The author follows accounting principles to make your business more profitable.
7- How to Win at the Sport of Business
Though I am not a particular fan of Mark Cuban, for reasons which I can later describe at another time, his book is actually very good for anyone in business.
Using the materials from his Blog Maverick, Cuban collected his posts into a general thought providing a general knowledge of how to become a successful entrepreneur.
These are just some options for you to start. There are many different books that are great for anyone starting a business or being in business.
Being in business is very challenging, you will be navigating uncharted territory. Some days might be more difficult than others. Nevertheless, you must always remember…. stay bold, stay fearless.
